Brushes from conductive materials allow safe cleaning without the risk of generating static charge. When brushing, ordinary brushes can create high electrostatic charge. Therefore, they are inappropriate for cleaning ESD sensitive parts. It is important to remove remains of flux and other impurities after soldering from DPS with high density of components.

Brushes consist of conductive plastic handle and conductive fibers. Brush resistance is less than 1x10⁸Ω.

Brushes should be used by grounded workers. Hard brushes are designed for rough cleaning, soft brushes are for delicate parts such as optics.
